Fitness Survey

Because i'm being a lazy blogger.....

1. Run/workout in the heat and humidity or freezing cold temps and snow?

Um.  I think i'll have to go with cold.  I die in the heat....like pass out on the side of the street...die.  I'd much rather put on some cold gear and warm myself up by running as fast as humanly possible back to the house :)

(I promise i'd wear clothes....maybe)

2. Washboard abs or flat abs?

If we're talking about on me...flat is fine. Too much sculpting looks manly. But if we're talking about a man....i'd take these....

3. Dr. Oz or The Doctors?

Is it sad that i've never actually watched either??? So i'll just guess.....Dr. Oz.

4. Cardio or strength?

I'm a cardio junkie....there i admitted it. I'd much rather spend 2 hours doing cardio then lifting for 2 hours (that'd be CRAZY!). I don't mind arms....but legs...forget about it.

5. Cravings: Protein or carbs?

Candy=Carbs....so carbs it is :)  I've had dreams about bread.  Does that answer the question?

6. Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper?

I think i'd do well with someone yelling at me.  It would piss me off and motivate me to get stronger so i can kick their ass.....she wins.

7. Frozen Yogurt or Ice Cream?

If i lived where there was frozen yogurt...i'd have to budget for at least 20% of my paycheck to go there.  I can eat the shit out of some fro-yo.   YUM!

8. To train: Upper body or Lower body?

Upper body.  I depise legs.  Squats, lunges....yuck.

9. Protein powder or food with protein?

Protein powder is gross.  I'll take a medium rare steak over chalky stuff!!!

10. Lunges or squats?

We just went over this....neither.  Ever.  not happening.

11. Sweet or salty?

Sweet.... lots and lots of sweet!!

12. Workout attire: cute or comfy?

I’d much rather be comfy than cute, but with that said...i don't think i look dumpy at the gym.  I love underarmour and that's pretty much all i wear....

13. Body Pump or Heavy lifting?

Oh good heavens i miss body pump.  i need a class to motivate me to to those squats and lunges :)


14. Yoga or Pilates?

How about a combo of both? I took a yogilates class in college and LOVED it.  I enjoy the stretching benefits of yoga...and the strengthening of pilates.

15. Nike or Adidas?

Neither.  I like UA clothes (again, we've gone over this!) and Brooks shoes!

16. Running on the treadmill or outdoors?

Well...for long runs, def. outside.  For sprints...treadmill.  Duh.



17. Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?

Do you know where i live? My options are Dillon's or Wal-Mart. 


18. Summer or Winter Olympics?

Oh man.  This is a split.  I really enjoy the swimming, gymnastics, and volleyball of the summer.  But the winter skiing and what not is just as fun to watch!!!

19. Exercise classes or Exercise videos?

Classes.  If i'm at home...i'll talk myself into a nap instead!



20. Steamed veggies or roasted veggies?

Can i say grilled??? I mean, i'll eat them raw, but if i have to pick the best way to eat them....grilled for sure!



We're alive!!!

Once again I've managed to fall off the face of the blog earth.  My sincerest apologies to all 3 of you that read :)

So, what have we been up to since you last heard from me?? (back in May?) Well.... we went to Hawaii. Had a blasty blast....

Then towards the end of June, I packed it up and headed to KC to do the Color Run with my besties.  As usual, these ladies did not disappoint!

And then just the other weekend we had a little shindig to attend to! The neighbor-boy from across the street (who ALWAYS cheated in flash light tag!!) got hitched!!

Other then that...we've been doing some of this fun stuff....

For those of you unaware folk...that's sheetrock...for a bathroom....specifically in my basement.  They've been working full steam on the whole basement for the last few days, and I swear if i let them, they'd have it done by Sunday.  I'll show pics when it's closer!

Oh and as of today, Mr. McGuire is a local celebrity.

This weekend is the start of Dodge City Days.  It's a big deal around these parts.  The whole In-Law crew will be joining us this year for the festivities and we couldn't be more excited!  There will be lots of Testicle Festival's, Logan Mise, Parade's, Boothill, running, and Jerrod Neimann.  Yehaw!!!!!

Tonight after work, the hubster and I will be loading up the car and hightailing it to Wichita!  First thing tomorrow our ass's will be sitting on a plane, headed straight towards this....

Jobless in Dodge City....

I am a known blog slacker. And I quite honestly have no excuse this time. I'm not busy, in fact I'm the opposite. I lost my job on March 3rd.... I won't go into details, but I'm soooo not mad about it. At first, maybe....but I think that was more shock then anything. I've been looking for something for a while...something that didn't require me to drive 67 miles a day... And work in a shed... With illegals,.... So blessing in disguise it was.
So what's a girl do with all this free time (besides stress the F out about money!)?? I go on vacation!! My granny was taking a long ass road trip to Joplin Missouri, then to Phoenix, then to San Fran and home. As tempted as I was to sit on my ass in the Cadi for millions of hours, I opted for the easy way. I flew to Phoenix and met my mom and granny k there. My cousin Julie lives there so we got to see her new house and help decorate (this included three hours in IKEA!) I hadn't met her baby boy Lane yet so I spoiled the bejesus out of him!! He is absolutely adorable!! After a few days there we headed to my other cousin Ranaye's. She lives about an hour and a half outside of San Fransico. We spent one day at her place then ventured into the city with her little guy Ayden in tow. I had never been there before and fell in love with it instantly!!!! We spent two fast fun filled days there and then it was time for me to head back home to the hubster and pups....and the job hunt!!! Here's a few pictures from the trip!! It was a fantastic trip and I was blessed to get to go!! I hadn't been to either Phoenix or Cali to visit my cousin since they've lived there (ummm like two years probably!).  I've been home for a week now...and accomplished lots of nothing...well ok, i sleep in till 930, work out for like 2.5 hours (keeps me out of the fridge), mow the yard, and drink like i'm 21 again (this only occurs on the weekends...so far, but if this unemployment continues much longer i may turn into a tuesday afternoon drinker!).  Something bigger and better is going to come up.... it just has to.  I think i've had my share of craptastic luck lately and deserve me some good stuff.  So stay tuned.... big things are happening people...BIG things (positive reinforcement helps me!)

Oh the places we will go.....

This is turning out to be the year of travel.... here's what 2012 has going on so far.

JANUARY

We headed up to Omaha for Nordy and Julie's Wedding.  Needless to say.  We. Had. Fun.

FEBRUARY

This month we didn't go anywhere super duper exciting.  But we spent a lot of time in Wichita! This past weekend We got to spend some quality time with these folks....

MARCH

We have NO plans for traveling in march.  And that makes me happy.  However....i should be getting a visit from this piece of work....

She has to take her series 7 test first....then she's all mine :)

APRIL

Two fun things in the books for this month....first up...

In Kansas City....with this pretty lady!

Our mother in law will be joining us....as well as Jenna Reyes herself :)  It's going to be a blast.

And then..... a couple of weeks after that.  Trav and I will head here.....

and the best part....it's free!! A drug company is taking us.  One of the perks of working at a feedyard I guess!  Whatevs....i'll take it!!

MAY

This trip has been a while in the making.  Well sort of.  Ok maybe not really.  We just started talking about it this past spring...no one was sure we'd actually do it.  but i took the reins...planned it, booked it, and we're off on the 23rd for 5 days of awesomeness here....

JUNE

June will take us BACK up to KC...this time for a colorful activity!

Anyone ever done this??? Me and the girlies are partaking, and I think it's going to be the bee's knee's.

JULY

This is the month of my father's birth.  And every year we go spend several days here....

Brekenridge Colorado....or Heaven.

July also brings up another favorite trip of mine.....Girls Weekend, or GW12.

The rest of the year is a little more calm.....so far.  Oh well at some point my sister is getting married (i think sept. is the tentative date there....)

Which pretty much consumes our weekends for 4 months!!! Eeeeek, i can't wait!!

So to recap...this year. is. CRAZY!!! I think maybe 2012 will redeem itself....and we'll be friends after all.
